Airbag options
Every NOON wheel is available two ways: with a remanufactured airbag installed, or as the wheel alone. Here is what each one means, in plain language, so you can choose the right one for you.
With a remanufactured airbag
Choose Airbag installed and your wheel arrives with a remanufactured driver airbag module already fitted, colour-matched to the wheel. Three things to know about it:
- It is remanufactured. It is not a new part.
- It is not a genuine Porsche airbag. We don't describe it as one, and it isn't supplied by Porsche.
- We make no certification claim. Our supplier hasn't given us documentation certifying it to FMVSS 208, CMVSS 208 or any other safety standard, so we don't claim that it meets one.
Wheel only, for a genuine Porsche airbag
If you would rather have a genuine Porsche airbag, choose Wheel only, no airbag. Your wheel arrives without an airbag, and it costs less than a wheel with the remanufactured airbag.
You then fit a genuine Porsche airbag: on some cars the one already in your wheel, otherwise a new one from your Porsche dealer. If a certified airbag matters to you, this is the option to choose.
Can I reuse my current airbag?
It depends on your car. This is the same guidance the configurator gives when you choose wheel only.
Reuse it
Reuse the airbag from your current wheel. It fits this wheel directly.
991.2 Carrera, Targa, Turbo, GT3, GT2 RS and Speedster. 718 Cayman, Boxster, GT4 and Spyder.
Check with your dealer
Your current airbag may fit this wheel. Check the part number with your Porsche dealer before ordering.
Macan 95B. Cayenne 92A from 2015. Panamera 971.1.
Buy a genuine 991.2 airbag
You'll need a genuine Porsche 991.2 driver airbag, available from your Porsche dealer. Your car's original airbag won't fit this wheel.
Every other car we fit, including the 996, 997, 991.1, 986, 987 and 981, the Cayenne 955, 957 and 9YA, the Cayenne 92A before 2015, and the Panamera 970.
Wheels in stock: 991.2 and 718 owners can reuse their current airbag. Other models need a genuine Porsche 991.2 driver airbag from the dealer.
Installation
An airbag is part of your car's restraint system, so we recommend that a qualified technician installs your wheel and airbag. Fitted incorrectly, an airbag can fail to work or go off when it shouldn't.
Disconnect the battery first and follow Porsche's procedure for your car. Unless we install it for you, installation is your responsibility. This applies whichever option you choose: a genuine Porsche airbag fitted to a NOON wheel needs the same care.
Our terms come first
This page explains the airbag options in plain language. Our terms of sale are the authoritative version, in particular The airbag and Installation. If anything here ever reads differently, the terms apply.
